Computers and Video News

Each of the following classes has its own focus, but my expectations of students in each class are the same.

  • Students will be on time and prepared to begin class
  • Students will listen to directions and ask appropriate questions
  • Students will be helpful to me and their classmates
  • Students will consistently do their personal best
  • Students will use class time productively

IMPORTANT: Parents may view their students progress at any time with School View. A link is on the district web page as well as this page. Your login information is the same as your student's user name and password. Our district number is 3180.

Missing Work

Students who miss work may make it up when they return. Most projects will run a week or two. If the absense is extended the student may have additional time and may also work on the assignments at home or the library.

Computers for 6-8th graders  - The State of Michigan has guidelines for what students should be able  to do with technology when leaving 8th grade. This class addresses those requirements with assignments in:

   1 Creativity and Innovation
   2 Communication and Collaboration
   3 Research and Information Fluency
4 Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making
   5 Digital Citizenship
   6 Technology Operations and Concepts

Video News - Lights, camera, action! The students and I are producing an afternoon news show and broadcasting to the entire Middle School. We will be using all of the computer skills we have learned as well as many new ones.

If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions on how your child can be more successful in my class please call or stop by room 224.
