Accelerated Reader  is reading homework. Remember that HOMEWORK is to read every night, you should be reading at least 30 minutes every night, and now you want to start reading longer books so you can stretch your mind. Remember to read at your own just right level.

You also need to practice math facts and spelling words every night.

To see your child's grades go to the SCHOOLVIEW link on the District's homepage or to the right under Links. You can use your password to view your child's progress.  If you do not have a password please contact the office and they can help you. 777-1600. PLEASE CHECK OFTEN. Thanks.

If you do not have internet at home, the office has a computer that you can use.

A new study shows that kids should be in bed no later than 8:30 P.M.

(We start school at 7:25 A.M. so 8:00 is probably better)

It also says to get the TV's, cell phones, and other electronic games out of their sleeping rooms to take away the buzzing and the light.

Did you know that third graders need 10-11 hours of sleep?  The better you sleep the healthier you are.

Make sure you get a good night's sleep and are not too tired to learn.

I'm so excited that you are in our third grade in room 105!

We are collecting BoxTops, Campbell's Soup Labels, Coke Product bottle tops, and the part of the case of cans where you open the box to take the cans from the box.

Look at the great places to visit on a summer day

Saginaw Art Museum  They often have hands on children's activities and they off Saturday Morning classes call to enroll

Delta Planetarium in Bay City  (visit the stars in a comfy seat)

Whitting Museum in Flint, look at our area and how it was 50 or more years ago

Detroit Science Center  has a really cool how the body works exhibit

Midland Center for the Arts  in Midland for Hands on Fun, call to find out which day they have free entry

Go for a walk at Shiawasee Nature Preserve it is the only one like it in the entire United States. Cool!

Bay City is great for fireworks and they have a wonderful park on the river

Chippewa Nature Center They offer outdoor trails, maple syrup tapping in the spring, an old school house and many other things.  This is one of my favorites!!  It is in Midland, MI

Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island are wonderful family vacation spots and you can visit in only one day if two people share the driving.

Greenfield Village in Dearborn is great for 3rd graders, it is wonderful for making history real.

Bay City Riverfront Park ,second weekend in September, go enjoy the reenactors as they travel through Michigan's history.
