Mrs. Halverson's Family and Consumer Science/Health Page

Welcome to my webpage!  What is Family and Consumer Science?  If you are a parent you may be more familiar with the term home economics.  Click on this link for more detail: FCS information.  I like to think of it as real life education.  It's main purpose is to prepare students for their lives today and in the future.  FCS has a unique focus on families and work.  Through FCS classes, a student develops knowledge and skills to become a contributing member of society as a family member, worker, nurturer, consumer, community leader, citizen and life-long learner.  Students explore topics and issues relating to balancing work and family, consumerism, health and nutrition, parenting and careers.
